Synopsis
From Nepal to California, Shivpreet Singh found his purpose in sound. He is a businessman and an artist. He uses ancient Indian music to heal the mind and unite cultures.
He says the kind of music he does is not pradarshan but Atmadarshan. So it's inward looking, and it's about listening to yourself. He doesn't like the word perform, because performance is for entertaining someone else. What he does with Gurbani and shabad kirtan is training the mind. It's a meditation.
He started Dhun Anand to help artists who don't have an audience, or the means to get to one, or the technology. One of those artists is Bhai Sarfaraz Lal Mardana, the 19th descendant of Bhai Mardana from Guru Nanak's time. Guru Nanak's line: Tera sadra sunije bhai je ko bahe alaye.
