Synopsis
Jombola is a racket sport that didn't exist until Sukhdev Singh created it. The rules are straightforward: a soft foam ball, a short solid racket with no strings, a modified badminton court, service from under the waistline, and 15-point games. Two signature strokes, the ace and the trip, give it a character all its own. Students at Sri Dasmesh school have been playing for two years, and the sport works on any surface, indoors or out. Sukhdev's target is ambitious but specific: debut Jombola at the Olympics between 2028 and 2032.
What makes Jombola more than a sport story is the man behind it. Sukhdev is a charismatic Sikh entrepreneur whose philosophy runs deeper than game mechanics. "Men fail because of broken focus," he says. "You have to be someone who only sees possibilities." He's built Jombola from scratch with that mindset, designing rules simple enough for children to learn but competitive enough for serious athletes to respect. This Sikhlens film follows one man's belief that a sport born from nothing can find its way to the world's biggest stage.
