Synopsis

Falcons Primary School is a Sikh-ethos faith school in the UK, and this film explores what it looks like in practice when a school is genuinely organized around shared values rather than just stated ones. The school is inclusive: it welcomes children from all backgrounds, not just Sikh families, and the approach to education reflects that. The curriculum and culture are shaped by principles drawn from Sikhism, including equality, service, and the dignity of every person, but applied in a way that makes sense for a diverse student body.

The film is a portrait of what happens when a school gets the foundational things right. Children learn in an environment where their whole selves are welcome, where the values of the institution are consistent with the values they're learning about, and where diversity is treated as an asset rather than a challenge to be managed. Flying School makes the case that Sikh values, properly understood, have something to offer every family and every child, regardless of background.
