Amardeep Singh set out to do something no one had done before: map the actual journeys of Guru Nanak as recorded in the oldest surviving historical accounts, rather than relying on later retellings. The research took him across nine countries, tracing routes that span the breadth of Asia and beyond. What he found was a story far richer and more geographically wide-ranging than most people realize, a life of travel motivated not by conquest or commerce but by the desire to meet people where they were and share a simple message of equality.

The film follows both the physical journey and the intellectual one. It's as much about the act of inquiry, of asking hard questions about what we actually know versus what we've been told, as it is about the destinations themselves. Amardeep's work challenges assumptions and brings a spirit of careful scholarship to a subject that is usually approached with reverence but less rigor. The result is a documentary that feels genuinely exploratory, as if we're discovering something alongside the filmmaker rather than simply being shown what he's already concluded.
